Tooling up for entrepreneurs

I used to work in an office with walls and people and things. There were computers attached to the desks, files in the cupboards, phones plugged into the floor and work happened there because that’s where all the stuff was to do the work.

Then bit by bit, mobile phones got cleverer, computers became more portable (they stopped weighing as much as me) and all of a sudden we were all on wheels. Running around the land with spreadsheets and movies on our phones, tweeting and instagramming, building new businesses and creating new careers. What a wonderful amazing thing.

Technology is fundamental to me achieving my ambitions – I just couldn’t do what I do, or grow my business as effectively as I have been, without my technological arsenal; phone, laptop, camera.

Samsung have been researching this new entrepreneurial wave and found some very interesting facts. For example, over the past few years more than one in ten British workers (12%) have left jobs to pursue a career they are passionate about, with 24% of working millennials planning to do the same. That’s a LOT. Also, those who do end up pursuing passionate careers are expected to have vastly increased job satisfaction – a whopping 84%.

It’s clear that this is a trend that shows no signs of wavering, and the tools we’re all using need to be better, faster and more intuitive than ever before.

Last weekend I visited the Samsung pop up at Boxpark in Shoreditch, to have a little play with their brand new Samsung Galaxy ProTab S – designed with entrepreneurs at the heart of it… and it is CLEVER.

The Samsung gang were there as well, full of helpful tips and ideas for entrepreneurs, creative thinkers and ideas people… exciting stuff.

It has super duper enhanced fast charging, is very slick and sleek and lightweight, has a multitouch screen and has the full functionality of a PC, complete with Windows 10. Boom.

It’s a laptop and a tablet and a superhero all in one. I was so impressed with it, I considered stuffing it up my jumper and doing a runner.

But those Samsung people looked speedy and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have made it past the door…

I also loved that the pop up was at Boxpark, where so many start ups and entrepreneurs have kicked off their retail businesses…

This dog was VERY excited to be there.

I think this guy misunderstood me when I asked him politely to move so I could get the picture…

Entrepreneurs like Pizza Pilgrims, Fashion & Mash and Jack Monroe are all big fans of this snazzy piece of kit and I can completely see why. It does everything you need it to and more – it’s instinctive and actually HELPFUL.

If I wanted to sail the oceans, I’d need an amazing boat. If I wanted to be the best window cleaner in the land, I’d need a supersonic ladder. But actually, I want to be the best blogger that I can be, and it is clear how this bit of kit would help me stay ahead of the game and make my life even easier…

I think it’s great. And if you are thinking about going it alone, or perhaps you’ve already made the leap – ALL POWER TO YOU.

Get tooled up, wake up early, eat well and there’ll be nothing to stop you 🙂
