Last week, Miranda and I sauntered on down to Covent Garden to witness and indulge in the ‘Ultimate Street Food Market’.
Both of us adore street food. And love markets. And we also have a real passion for excellent food and wonderful London restaurants… What we hadn’t banked on was all of these things colliding in an delicious foodie explosion right in the heart of Covent Garden, on King Street, on a Thursday night. This is all part of #CGAfterHours, taking part very Wednesday – Saturday in July.
Four of our favourite Covent Garden restaurants were there, serving up their stella wares, out of brightly coloured cheery vans… and with the unmistakeable scent of Peruvian spices wafting out of the LIMA Floral van, we headed towards it decisively. The crowds parted and we ordered a couple of plates of heaven.
We wandered around choosing where to visit next… restaurants involved included Frenchie, LIMA Floral, Balthazar Boulangerie and Southern Joes… and tomorrow, there will be four others…
We made a beeline for Frenchie, who were serving up their famous Reuben sandwiches.
I believe that tomorrow is the last opportunity to head down there, so once you’ve finished work, grab your colleagues and hop it over to the cobbled streets of Covent Garden.
I’ll be the one scoffing something enormous in the corner.

We were guests of the market, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
